What are folks biasing 6L6s to, in particular Groove Tube 6L6GCs if anyone is using them?

Tia,

JJ, I have played with my new set of GT 6L6GEs and set them anywhere from 25mv to 40mv. 38mv is considered ave 60% idle. 44mv would be 70% Idle. I like them at 38mv. I am not totally happy with the Groove Tubes. I kept searching for a set of NOS RCAs and I like better. The Groove Tubes were a lot better than the Sovteks and any Chinese I tried. GTs have good clean head room, but with my Tele and Bolin guitars, when pushed the highs were shrill.

Thanks for the input... I have been running mine at 35mV but not had a chance to gig them yet, clean headroom is what I am looking for so you comments are encouraging Smile

If you drop the bias down. 25mv or 30mv. You get an increase in headroom. I do this for recording some country or clean blues music.
I think that those GT 6L6 GEs are the BEST NEW production 6L6s that I have tried.
